Inkscape and my face

Yesterday I tried to do a self portrait with the fantastic software Inkscape: I confirm it's fantastic!

Do not be afraid to observe my face, but I'm happy to say this drawing I made it in less than half an hour!!

ISS by Smartphone (Nexus 5)

These are some pictures of the ISS I took using my smartphone:

1) Between the clouds a luminous point is hiding...

2) This zoom helps us to visualize it better...

3) At the maximum magnitude point his luminosity has reached the value of -2.2!!

Around 18:50 of the 7th october 2014 from my leccese studio flat I took some photos by my smartphone to the transit of the ISS.

First is a wide landascape photo while the others are closer.

The ginned effect is due, in the first, to the high ISO, note the other parameters:

1° photo

• dist. focale = 3.97 mm
• f = 1/2.53
• t = 1/10 sec
• ISO = 2033

2° photo

• dist. focale = 3.97 mm
• f = 1/2.53
• t = 1/10 sec
• ISO = 3200

Thanks to the high magnitude (-2.2 around the best point of visibility) it was possible to see the ISS between the clouds.

Homemade Astronomy.

This evening I have a great desire to take a great photo of the ISS (International Space Station).
Time ago I took a picture and the result was very good considering I took that photo "on the fly" with the following parameters:

• t = 44 secs
• f/6.3
• ISO = 100
• 27 mm

The final image was this (consider I took that picture in RAW and elaborated it in PNG format with reduced sizes):

Soon I'll have the opportunity to find the precise sizes to take a better photo!
I want to eliminate a lot of light of the horizon (there are some light poles) and the duration of the transit is ca. 1 min and 43 secs (longer than the previous).
So I decided to take this new picture with these new values:

• t = 2 min
• f/13
• ISO = 100
• Focale between 18 and 55 mm

It wasn't a good idea... -.-' ISS was too low on the horizon and there was a lot of mist. It was better when I didn't prepare anything and I took a photo on the fly like this:

• t = 50 secs
• f/8
• ISO = 100
• 21 mm
